FOX News, everyone's favorite source of biased reporting, is running a
rather eyebrow-raising AP article about the lack in merit of municipal wifi:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,274728,00.html

A salient quote: "They are the monorails of this decade: the wrong
technology, totally overpromised and completely undelivered," said
Anthony Townsend, research director at the *Institute for the Future*

The entire article appears to focus on general lack of profitability of
muni wifi projects, no mention at all about issue like net neutrality or
the desire to oppose ongoing consolidation of media providers.
Although, there is some valid discussion of folks overlooking
limitations of wifi serivce (e.g. not deploying enough antennae, being
unable to propagate through metal mesh).
