On August 21, as part of the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center's Human Rights night series, the Colombia Support Network will screen the video, "Love, Women and Flowers" and lead a discussion on the labor and human rights issues raised by the global flower industry. The 1988 film shows the sickness and hardship suffered by the women workers in Colombia who raise and pick carnations that are exported for sweethearts around the world. That's Tuesday, August 21 at 7 pm at the Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center, 218 West Main St in downtown Urbana.  For more information, contact the IMC at 344-8820.
