Screening of "Delta Force"

As part of an ongoing effort to support the establishment of an Independent Media Center in Nigeria, the Urbana-Champaign Independent
Media Center will host a fundraiser featuring poetry and music performance by Amira Davis and Jason Finkleman and a viewing and discussion of the documentary "Delta Force."  The film deals with the struggle against Shell Oil's exploitation fo the Niger River Delta area in Nigeria and the repression of the Ogoni People who live there.  Footage includes interviews with Ken Saro-Wiwa, renowned author and activist who was executed with other Ogoni activists by the Nigerian government.  All proceeds will be sent to independent journalists in Nigeria.  The UCIMC is located at 218 West Main Street in downtown Urbana.  For more information,
