BLUE AUDIO (www.blueaudio.com)
Blue Audio is John Wu, an Asian-American artist and producer with 2
released albums and half a dozen compilation appearances. He has done
live performances with artists like Kai, Jocelyn Enriquez and Anything
Box, and founded a record label in 1998 called Border Blue
Records. Blue Audio is electronic pop, kind of pop with a Chicago
house influence, think Depeche Mode meets Fatboy Slim, it's got melody
but it's also got the rhythm and the beat. But the true power lies in
the musical spectrum on the latest album, showcasing a range of
emotion and style that takes the audience away from the boredom of
everyday life.

G. LEE & JET BLONDE (www.jetblonde.com)
G. Lee & Jet Blonde play modern rock with a strong pop sensibility and
deliver it in an honest, forthright manner.
Singer/songwriter/guitarist G. Lee comes from a musical family and has
been playing music her entire adult life. Her voice can be strong
while at the same time delivering lyrics in an expressive, sensitive
way. Her vocal style and quality have been described as somewhere
between that of Sheryl Crow and Lisa Loeb. She formed G. Lee & Jet
Blonde in 1999 and has recorded and released two CDs with her band Jet
Blonde, which consists of some of Champaign's finest musicians.

ELLEN ROSNER (www.ellenrosner.com)
The City of Big Shoulders seems an appropriate breeding ground for
singer/songwriter Ellen Rosner. Born and raised in Chicago, her music,
lyrics, and presentation radiate that direct, firm handshake,
what-you-see-is-what-you-get attitude that keeps Midwesterners' feet
on the ground and informs their keen sense of detecting bull. Look a
little deeper and you'll also find the heart of gold and unpostured
sincerity that are hallmark traits of the heartland.

HUMPTY DUMPSTER (www.humpty-dumpster.com)
Humpty Dumpster has been rocking out around the Champaign-Urbana area
since 1999. Like Joan Jett meets Supersuckers, their dual-guitar
attack combines with biting female lead vocals to form a powerful
punch of garage punk rock'n'roll. Currently completing their second
album, their live show guarantees high-energy fun.

WHAT IS TOURBABY?

CD Baby artists establish TourBaby: a National Tour of the Best Local Music

NEW YORK - A new kind of tour is coming through Urbana - a concert put
on by the best independent musicians in the area. Although "TourBaby"
will cross 44 cities in four months, each show will be comprised of
the top local artists instead of a single touring lineup.

Why the unique approach? Hundreds of musicians are banding together to
raise awareness of independent music: the music you don't hear on
mainstream TV or radio.

TourBaby aims to highlight the top local bands and artists of all
musical styles and genres, and to introduce these musicians to a
broader cross-section of the communities.

"We're out to call attention to all the great music that's right under
your nose in your local community," is how the organizers of TourBaby
see it.

"TourBaby is an intimate connection between artist and fans." said
founding member Dave Mann. "It's a grassroots co-operative effort
created entirely by musicians. Each TourBaby concert is organized by
the artists in that local community. These musicians all met through
CD Baby, a popular online record store for independent artists."

TourBaby is sponsored by CDBaby and Disc Makers

-------

TourBaby is a significant, bellwether event in the current evolution
-- perhaps better called revolution! -- in the music industry. As
technology (ProTools, powerful home computers, synth upgrades, etc.)
and the Internet have put the tools needed to produce and market the
highest quality music into everyone's living room, garage or basement,
the major labels' monopoly and system of "hitmaking" has begun to
erode -- and, apparently, irreparably. TourBaby is independent
music's first (need I say Baby?) step in its growing ability to have
nationwide impact and significance -- its own equivalence of
Lollapalooza or Lillith Fair. For the first time, independent music is
organizing and operating on a national level, and, like the first step
on the moon, it's just one step, but it signals the arrival of a whole
new era in the music industry. A new player is on the field with the
big boys, and it's all of us!
