The Pee Wee Fist (on Kimchee Records) are not just a side project of
guitarist Pete Fitzpatrick (also of Clem Snide).  Their official debut is a
textural rainbow of sound endowed with enigmatic and whimsical
imagery. The mood changes with every song. Some convey a sadder,
simpler acoustic aesthetic; others rollick or sway with
mulit-instrumental fervor. Through it all is the element of surprise,
as Fitzpatrick and company expertly steer us around indie-rock cliche'
while employing some of the genre's formal styles (i.e. alt-country,
slack-pop, classic and post-rock, etc.) to achieve something
remarkably singular.

THE BEAUTY SHOP
When the Allmusic guide refers to Champaign's own Beauty Shop (on
Parasol Records) as performing "dark Americana dirges with wicked
deadpan drawls," they couldn't be more dead-on. Local alt-country-punk
sensation John Hoeffleur, along with longtime Beauty Shopper Ariane
Peralta have picked up a new drummer Joe Martin and are playing out again.
The Beauty Shop are hotter than ever, with a recent tour of UK and several
domestic shows in its wake.

THE BUZZARDS
The Buzzards are an alt-country rock band out of Champaign, featuring Steve
Lamos of DMS and American Football.


All IMC shows are non-smoking and all ages. Non-alcoholic beverages and
snacks will be available.  BYOB if 21+.
