Who is the IMC?

Carly Nix, Americorps News/Media Coordinator

As
News Media Coordinator, I split my time between WRFU and Public i. 
For
the Public i, I help with distribution, writing, proofing, and
editing.  At WRFU I recruite and train people to be airshifters (Hey,
want a show?  Saturdays are open!) and support station initiatives
like
getting new audio equipment and a permanement transmitter tower. 
WRFU's 4th anniversary is on November 13th, and I've been working with

past and current WRFU members to organize a WRFU Birthday Extravaganza

with workshops, a party, and other festivities.  Check out

Books to Prisoners Volunteer Yvette Scheven honored by RSVP

RSVP, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program honors BTP
volunteer Yvette Scheven with Service to an Overlooked Community award

at their volunteer luncheon held Oct 20, 2009.

Yvette is one of BTP's most active members and one of the first people
new volunteers are likely to meet on their initial visit. Three days a
week Yvette is in our workshop helping to make our program successful
by providing orientations and a warm welcome to all who volunteer with
us.

Books
to Prisoners accepts book request letters from Illinois inmates, finds

books that meet their needs, and sends them out with a personalized
letter. They also have created, stocked, and now staff the Champaign
County Jail libraries.

IMC Shows Presents: Bossa Nuevo

BOSSA
NUEVO features University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign School of
Music students who perform eclectic mixture of material by
South-American composers. The arrangements pay tribute to the
classical
recordings by such artists as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Elis Regina, Tania

Maria, Edu Lobo, Joao Gilberto, Djavan, and Astor Piazzolla

General Membership - Bi-annually, on the 1st Saturday afternoon of
April and the 1st Thursday Evening of October.

Steering - First Thursday of the month, 8-9pm at IMC

Books to Prisoners - Tuesdays, 7-9pm; Thursdays, 2-4pm; Saturdays,
2-4pm. 

Community Connections - 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6pm.

Finance - Every Thursday at 5:30 PM at the IMC

Librarians and Archivists - 2nd & 4th Saturday of each month, 1pm-4pm.

ODDMUSIC - Open Hours Every Sunday 7-9pm (off the Family Room).

Outreach - 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 6pm.

Print (Public i) - Thursdays 5:30 PM at IMC.

Production - First Thursday of the month at 7:00pm in the first floor
of the IMC

Shows/Booking - Every Thursday at 7:00 pm

Tech - Every 1st and 3rd Tuesday at 6:00pm in the main space
