The POC Zine Project, which includes Prof. Mimi Thi Nguyen of the
University of Illinois, is an organization dedicated to promoting
self-publishing among people of color.

Be sure to check out their panel at 4:00 PM in the Allen Hall S. Rec Room
(1105 W. Gregory Dr., basement)!

To *Hear And To See* is an exhibition of paintings by Jason Michael Bentley
depicting an intimate perspective on the songwriting and musicianship of
Champaign/Urbana’s music scene. The numerous smaller, accessible venues and
musical diversity is unique among any other place in Illinois outside of
Chicago. With its vigorous activity, the scene becomes a tangible, highly
visual culture, where show attendance and spectacle is just as much, if not
more, a part of the music experience.

Generally, public images of musicians are performance oriented, or
conceptual press photos. Jason’s paintings capture musicians in their
preferred surroundings during the creative process, bringing the viewer a
more introspective and personal viewpoint.
