Hey everyone, the meeting notes from our business meeting have been posted

Makerspace Business meeting – 12/4/2011

      Movie night – Dec 11th 6pm Gergana will be promoting. - Come out &

      Makerfaire 2012

         Sarah & Erich met regarding Makerfaire.
         -

         Time to start getting ppl involved, solicit maker participation,
         making stuff & getting tables.
         -

         No table fees this year, sponsorship will cover fees, most costs
         -

         Should have a donation bin, vending donated food, offer workshops
         in the makerspace for small fees
         -

         Pumping Station 1 in Chicago will come & wants us to attend one of
         their events
         -

         Next steps: set regular meeting time & promote to makerspace list
         on getting involved

      Help Desk
      -

         Help desk. People coming in. Chris & Barry working on organizing
         materials,check in workstation, printer setup, website
         -

         Donations -no unsolicited donations, usable items can be brought
         to help desk hours
         -

         Space usage – workstations in main area are configured for member
         use. please pick up after yourself, don't reconfiguring stuff without
         posting to the list first or asking someone.
         -

         Need to update the wiki with inventory, label maker – Derek will
         investigate
          -

      Membership
      -

         Suggestion & consensus to restart key holding membership renewal
         for everyone in January 2012
         -

         Implement tiered member structure discussed
         -

         create a keystaff mail alias for discussion – mail alias is the
         preferred way. can use it as a contact alias as well.
         -

         communicate login information

      Volunteers
      - Help desk is getting some volunteers through CUVolunteer.org
      - If you want to volunteer time, consider staffing help desk, open
      hours (members), or teaching a workshop
      - Do you know any licensed electricians who are interested in DIY?
      Have them come to a meeting.
      - People interested in grant writing around community tech services
      like the help desk, contact Chris R. or Stewart
      -
