[Imc-makerspace] Art Station at Summer Youth Radio Celebration.

So at our last business meeting we all agreed the "*Outta the Mouths of
Babes Summer Celebration" *sounded like an outreach opportunity we would be
interested in participating in(details below). And someone came up with the
excellent idea of doing  Playdough
electronics<http://howto.wired.com/wiki/Make_Homemade_Playdough_Circuits>
as
the activity for it. If anyone is interested in helping with this please
let me know asap. I bought a set of the ingredients and was thinking we
could try making some and testing it wed at the space.

We will also be holding round 2 of the sewing workshop wed night at 6pm to
let people finish up their projects from the weekend. Just fyi in case you
want to stop in a check out the awesome sewing machine setup we have going.

Hey Chris and Jeff--

I'm writing to invite you to help create art stations for family and kids
at an event commemorating graduating youth radio correspondents on a local
radio program! Outta the Mouths of Babes is a 12-week radio project that
invites local urbana-area youth between the ages of 5-11 years old to
become "Youth Correspondents" in a radio show where kids comment on local
arts +cultural happenings in Champaign-Urbana! 16 youth have taken the
challenge and we're delighted to be able to showcase and celebrate their
work throughout the summer in a celebration free and open to the public at
the Independent Media Center.

We are hoping to have around 6 art stations set-up for reception attendees
where they can explore local art, try their hand at a craft, and take home
pieces of their work! Would you be interested in setting up a maker's space
table? Here are the event details and a flyer is attached:

*Outta the Mouths of Babes Summer Celebration*
When: Saturday, August 11th, 2012
Time:2pm-4pm at the Independent Media Center
Details:A OMB celebration! OMB youth correspondents will display any work
they’ve created in a closing reception for the public! Sound bytes from
their show will be played, too! The event will feature a photo/artwork
display from youth and a certificate awards ceremony for completing the
program with us. We'll have refreshments and goodies for the whole family.
