[Imc-makerspace] Visit in Feb/March?

Hi,
Jeff, tom and I met this evening to discuss what we want to do at the
MakerSpace during Mitch Altman's residency
at Unit One Allen Hall.
Here what we decided. If you don't agree, please speak up. Otherwise,
this is what I'll propose to Mitch that we do.
Loan soldering stations for Mitch to use at Allen Hall -- Jeff says,
definitely yes -- better that they should get some use. I'll ask Mitch
about his supply of solder. We have maybe five wire cutters, I think.
Jeff and Tom think that we should let Mitch do whatever workshop he wants
-- And he wants to do a Learn-to-Solder/build-an-Arduino. We think that
the price, $35 up front is a little steep, but Mitch thinks that he can
easily
fill the workshop at this price, so we think we should just let him go for
it. We are going to propose doing the workshop on Saturday, March 3 from
2:00-5:00pm. That way, Mitch will have all week to publicize it at Allen
Hall.
Mitch says that he would like to bring Unit One people to the MakerSpace.
We think this is fine. I should probably ask him what exactly he has in
mind for this -- A tour? The Workshop?
The School for Designing a Society had Gareth Branwyn do a "Polka-Dot-Bag
Lecture" upstairs in the IMC Main Space during his Unit One Allen Hall
residency. I was kind of hoping that they would ask Mitch to do this as
well,
as he has offered to do a talk for the MakerSpace. So, we'll see what
happens.
I'll give this a couple of days to float on the IMC-MakerSpace e-mail
discussion list and shoot for something like
Tuesday, Jan 31 to let Mitch know what we'd like to propose.
