In attendance were Barry T., Chris R., Jeff P., Kyle ?,Tom ?, ???,
Brian W, Stewart D. Please provide corrections/additions. Thanks!
Kudos to Barry and Don McClure for being there to get the WRFU
Automation computer back on the air last week.
Membership and Financial Report -- Chris R. passed around a profit/loss
statement for the
Makerspace on a sheet of paper given to him by Durl. Chris is building
a Google Doc collection
for financial spreadsheets for the Makerspace and will give access to
Key staff.
The Makerspace is doing well. Particularly, Chris is optimistic about a
partner grant application
he is working on, so he recommends moving ahead with purchases.
Barry is facilitating getting keys to two new key staff members. Barry
will add these membership
procedures to the wiki.
Stewart gave a report on the SME RAPID 2012 Conference -- Check out

We are doing a sticker exchange with Freeside Atlanta, the Hackerspace
which is located in
West-End Atlanta Metropolitan Business and Arts District.
Summer Make-Ation -- Jeff has an outline of workshops which have been
planned.
June 23 Soldering, July 7 Play Doh Electronics with Colten Jackson
Pewter casting the the alley, outside, July 21 Router hacking, ...
Arduino/Sewing workshop
August 15?
Barry said that Carol Ammons talked to him about the possibility of
bringing MakerSpace
workshops to local Summer Youth Camp programs. Chris suggested that the
host camp
should support the cost of the workshop off-site -- Cost of materials,
$50 instructor stipend.
Make-Ation planning will get cost estimates, proposed fees for general
public for workshops
this week. Meeting is Wednesday, June 6 at 7:00PM during Open Hours.
Barry will get Dates, Times locations of proposed Summer Camp workshops
from Carol along with age range pf the campers.
Chris is working a grant application in conjunction with the Fab Lab,
Rocket Club? which
could bring the Makerspace up to $3000 to support workshop programs.
Other workshop ideas -- EagleCAD,
Publicity for Summer Make-Ation will be worked on Wednesday. Produce a
15-30 second PSA
for WRFU. Can send an MP3 to Stewart for submission.
Purchases: Brian has put forth the recommendation to buy the Mosaic M-1
3D Printer which
lists for $899 unassembled at

Build material runs around $50 per 5 pounds.
It was fairly unanimous that we should buy it. This will be done within
the week.
Tom has a quadcopter frame he wants to build on a 3D printer.
Chris R. showed the Makey-Makey uTube video which had been posted on the
Makerspace
Urbana Facebook page.
The oscilloscope purchase is prioritized after the 3D printer now.
The Squishy Circuits Kickstarter project was mentioned.
Tom said that we should get a "nice multimeter".
Maker Faire planning meeting will be in late June. There is the
suggestion that the date of
the Maker Faire should be moved to September.
Sravan's partner Ricardo Diaz, STEM Educator from Statewide Extension
wants to bring a class
to the Maker Faire, but was a conflict (FIRST Robotics) in April.
Show & Tell Update, Green Purpose, Repair Cafe... I don't think that
there was anything specific said about these items. Eric? is in contact
with Green Purpose?
Chris & Barry will prepare Computer Help Desk flyers to distribute at
Parkland along with
Summer Make-Ation flyers.

Committee. Chris will
submit Stewart as MakerSpace spokesperson for the first meeting.
