Hi,

I'm a volunteer with OpenHatch, a non-profit organization that works to
build open source communities by maintaining web tools and running outreach
events.  We're planning on running a workshop at UIUC on Sunday, October
7th, and were wondering if anyone from Makerspace Urbana would be
interested in volunteering.  (I actually was hoping to email the Community
Help Desk folks directly, but couldn't find contact info for them.)

We’re looking for volunteers to help in the following ways:
(1) Just being a friendly resource to answer questions from students about
whatever open
source project they want to contribute to.
(2) Talking about how open source fits into your career, on a career panel.
(3) Being a teacher or TA to an essential topic, like how open source
projects communicate, or
how version control works.

Do you think you might be available to help newcomers learn about open
source, and to mentor people through contributing to projects?  You can
