Here are a couple of points to consider on recycling electronics:

1.  For items that are still in working condition, please consider donating them to a local thrift store, like Habitat for Humanity's ReStore (119 E University Ave, C., 217-819-5118), or Goodwill, Salvation Army, or one of the others.  That way, the charity can make some money by reselling them and new users can benefit from owning them.

2.  Mervis Industries also offersfree electronic recycling (including TVs and monitors), and their hours are M - F 8AM - 4PM.  Their local outlet is referred to as both
"Advantage Recycling" and "Marco Recycling."

and it lists what items they accept, along with a few that they don't (e.g. speakers and microwave ovens).

If we have electronics to recycle, this Saturday is the day.  Dumping recycling in our dumpster is both toxic and illegal, so let's avoid it. Limit 10 items per person.  Lines tend to be long so go early or late. - Danielle
