Here are the notes from tonight.  Please let me know if you find any
mistakes. They are also on our shared Google Drive under Makerspace

Makerspace Membership Meetings

July 7, 2013

Attendees: James, Brian, Liz, Jeff, Emily, Stewart, Colten, Lisa, Barry

*) Opens

1. Virtual chat with Acorn Active Media possibilities

- Stewart is the custodian for Acorn Active Media; organization that did
Chambana.net, Internet branch of the IMC;

-Emily will make Doodle for meeting date/time

2. Membership/Financial Update

Current financial status & rent increase

Background Information

--In 2012 Chris signed for $300 but we were only being billed for $250 -
 the -IMC would like us to pay $600 back rent from 2012

--S. Dickerson signed the  new lease lease on February 14, 2013 (2013 year)
for $309

-IMC issued 3% increase across the board

-We agree to pay back $50/month

Financial Status

-Chris was tracking down who was paying - Emily will take this over

-We do not have enough to cover our rent this year -

-Paypal - Have Erich find out what we should have from PP.

-Once Stripe is setup use this for monthly payments - include sustainers
for the space, people who just want to give $5, 10 a month rather than full
membership

-Goals for Make-a-tion project?

-Charge for some of the workshops - probably only charge for the beer
making workshop this summer

-Bulk signup for sessions - 5 for $25 or something like that

-Jeff - Check Urbana Free Library check from university

-Check to see if your employer supports volunteer work

-- Square/Stripe account setup

-Erich will meet with Durl to finalize setup once he returns

-- Status of Help Desk

-we will be taking over HelpDesk

-Barry will need assistance - sign up to help - add in to calendar entry?

-Jeff will work on sign up system

-also improve educational aspect

-- Liability waivers

- have key members sign liability waiver

-Jeff has a contact and will send a template for us to use

-also information in your advertising - one sentence blurb about liability

*) RFID lock update

-- Makerspace ease-of-access: James, Jeff, and Edward to give us an update
on current status

-Erich is working on the code -- will be installed at some point

- we do have a bell that rings down the hall and here, James will also
install a larger signal and have flashing light eventually

*)3-D Scanner

-more or less set up

-James is calibrating it a bit but almost functional

*) Phone

-we have a phone and it rings

-but needs Chrome to start and login when the computer is on

-still forwards to Jeff’s number

-add number to website

-Lisa was there the whole time - really successful, 120 people came through

-ran out of t-shirts

-successful b/c all ages could participate
