Dear Makerspace Urbana,

The Maker Faire is coming to Des Moines! The first annual Des Moines Mini
Maker Faire <http://desmoinesmakerfaire.com/> is scheduled for Monday,
September 1, 2014 at the Science Center of Iowa. Never head of a Maker
Faire? Part science fair, part county fair and part something entirely new,
Maker Fair is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, artists,
educators, crafters, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs,
authors and students. All of these "makers" come to the Des Moines Mini
Maker Faire to show what they have made and share what they have learned.

The Call for Makers, Performers and Crafters is open now through August
15th and we would love your participation. What are we looking for? Makers,
not consumers; robotics, DIY, art and more. Not only are we looking for
traditional exhibitors but also presenters, speakers, performers and
artists. Visitors want to learn something, so just as important as your
exhibit will be your presence explaining how you do what you do. Maker
participation is free, so please consider taking a moment to apply.

If you are interested in participating in this inaugural event should
complete the simple application here. Acceptance will be on a rolling basis
and you will heard from Judy Downs at the Science Center of Iowa within a
week of applying. Space is limited so apply today to take advantage of this
brand new opportunity to hit Des Moines.
