So Celeste, are you up for the interview? Are you comfortable talking
about the potential impact of the FTAA south of the border? Pedro is
willing to help with this part, if that would be helpful.

Pedro also says there could be two people interviewed - one in Spanish to
talk about the FTAA and one in English to talk about experiences in Quebec
City. This is a possibility, but I think if one person could do both
pieces, it would simplify things. Just my thoughts...

Hi Gina,

I talked with my Fresno friend, and he told me he is definitely interested
in interviewing people.  He and I talked about the situation for a while
yesterday night, and he explained that he had overlooked reading your
statement when he told me that he needed more information about who we
were.  So everything is cleared up now.

He and I discussed the mechanics of the interviews, and we came up with
some data I think I should pass along.  The ideal situation for the Radio
Station is as follows: they would like to interview -if possible- one
Spanish speaking person; they would be more than willing to interview
anybody else, though.  As my friend described it, a good case scenario is
that the Spanish speaking person talks about the FTAA, what it represents,
and why our community opposes it.  I am willing to translate to Spanish
the relevant parts of the statement you wrote, and probably add some extra
remarks on the significance of the issue for the peoples of Latin America,
and on some specific examples that may illuminate that significance.  Then
I would send that document to anyone who wants to actually do the
interview in Spanish, so as for that person to have a bit of material in
Spanish to draw from.

The English speaking interview could be someone who can give a summary of
what happened at Quebec City, and the Spanish one could be something of an
enlightening discussion on the issues involved, so that the Spanish
speaking person who does the interview need not have gone to Quebec City.

The interviews, put together, could constitute material for an educational
feature presentation on a nationally aired program on Radio Bilingue
(www.radiobilingue.org), and bits of it would appear on news segments.
The Radio Station is quite important, and reaches lots of people.  The
feature presentation, after editing, would be something like 8-10 minutes
long.  These are all the specifics I got.
