*WHY PREACHERS AND PRIESTS ARE ACCEPTING ISLAM – A COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENT*

* *

(Urbana, IL, 02/16/2006) - On Thursday, February 16, 2006 Yusuf Estes,
formerly Preacher "Skip" Estes, will give a talk on the University of
Illinois campus entitled, "Why Preachers and Priests are Accepting
Islam".  This
unique event is being sponsored by Muslim Women's Outreach and comes at a
crucial time when misconceptions and negative images of Islam are all too
pervasive in the media. The theme of the talk is how a Texas Christian
Preacher and a Catholic Priest, who hated Muslims and thought they were all
terrorists, came to change their minds about a religion that dominates
almost one-fifth of the world's population. The entire Champaign-Urbana
community is invited to this event in an effort to expand their horizons and
question what they know about Islam and Muslims. The event will be held at
7 pm in Gregory Hall, located at 810 South Wright Street in Urbana on the U
of I campus. Admission is free. For more information on the event or the
speaker please see www.muslimpreacher.com or call 217-819-9027.

Mr. Estes will also be speaking at a fundraising dinner and lecture entitled
"Christians, Muslims, and Jews-Holy Wars or Big Business?" on Saturday,
February 18 at 5:30 pm in the University YMCA, located at 1001 South Wright
Street in Champaign on the U of I campus. Tickets are limited. To reserve
tickets go to www.muslimpreacher.com or call 217-819-9027.

*Muslim Women's Outreach *(MWO) was founded in 2003 as a local community
organization and a Registered Student Organization on the campus of the
University of Illinois in order to dispel myths and misconceptions about
Islam and Muslims, particularly Muslim women. MWO efforts have focused on
social activities and lectures that bring the community into contact with
Muslims in an effort to broaden horizons and develop interpersonal
relationships. Specific activities include: A panel discussion in
coordination with the Channing-Murray Foundation entitled, "Choosing
Oppression? Why American Women are Choosing Islam"; Co-sponsors of the
Annual Peace Bazaar in coordination with several interfaith organizations;
Several Interfaith Women's Luncheon with non-Muslims, including the Vineyard
Church. For more information on MWO please go to www.muslimpreacher.com.
