Dear Reporters,

FSRN would like to announce that Host Deepa Fernandes will be taking a 3 month
leave of absence to focus on her Youth Radio work and take some personal time
with her family. Her leave will begin on June 1 and run through August 31,
2004. In her absence we are looking for someone, perhaps two people, to assume
the role of Interim Host of FSRN. Below is a job description.

We have constituted a search team that consists of people who work closely
with
the Host and know the position well. They are Deepa Fernandes, Jade
Paget-Seekins, Mitch Jesserich and a member of the personnel team.

To apply, please upload one clearly labled example of your voice work for the
selection team to listen to. The selection should be no more than 5 minutes.
Also, please send a brief letter stating what you would bring to the
position of Interim Host, what experience you have had as a radio host and
your
experience in conducting radio interviews. Please state from where you would
work from as often times access to an ISDN line and international dialing is
required.

The position is half-time and pays $75 per day.

Host - FSRN - part time - 4 hours

* Join the 9.15am EST editorial conference call - discuss features/headlines
for each day with producer and headlines editor and bring diverse news story
suggestions to meeting.
* Coordinate with FSRN Producer throughout the day, perhaps conduct a two-way
or
help with editing of scripts or liasise with reporters and provide help where
needed.
* Receive reporter intro's from producer - edit/tweak/re-write and update with
latest news and other news pertaining news items. Write billboard.
* voice reporters intros and send to Tech-Producers
Be available on deadline to help in cutting stories that are too long.
* Clean up text of Story Introductions and send to tech producers to post on
web
site
* Write, voice, record and edit and FSRN promos, member-station promos
* Pitch on FSRN stations where necessary
* Participate in the collective Editorial Process by responding daily to
the list of reporter pitches that the producers will email to you.
