about the upcoming Roe v Wade weekend.  If it needs

HEADLINE - Roe V. Wade Anniversary Events

January 22 marks the 32nd anniversary of the Roe Vs
Wade Supreme Court decision recognizing that a woman's
the right to choose abortion is protected by the US
constitution.

The National Organization for Women and other women's
organizations in the Champaign Urbana community will
host a series of events to commemorate this landmark
for women's self-determination and reproductive
rights.

There will be a rally on at Anniversary Plaza on the
Quad on January 21st at noon.  Illinois state
representative Naomi Jakobssen will speak as well as
members and leaders of local women's organizations.

On January 22 Planned Parenthood of East Central
Illinois will host a one hour workshop run by Pam
Sutherland of the Illinois Planned Parenthood Council
on current legislative issues and the direction of
reproductive rights over the next 4 years.

Additionally on Friday the 21st there will be a
screening of the film "If these Walls Could Talk" and
a wine tasting benefit for the CCNOW and UIUC NOW.  On
Saturday the 22nd there will be a benefit concert for
the Planned Parenthood Abortion Fund.
