[Imc-tech] Debian strikes again

Last night I got as for as the `dselect' utility for selecting
packages to install. `Dselect' appears to be designed to confuse and
frustrate the user from page one. When I realized that I could not type
commands experimentally without risking a beep that would disrupt Nancy
Dietrich-Rybicki's phone interview, I gave up and went to dinner.  So the
machine has been humming on the newsroom floor ever since. It occurs to
me right now that it was very inconsiderate of me to leave the computer
sprawling across the floor like that, so I am going to try to get over
to the IMC about 4:30 this afternoon and clean up after myself.
