Subject: Wed Demo

This Wed at 3pm in the NL there will be a demo for Sascha Meinrath and
possible guests.

Sascha is one of many who have helped to establish the global network of
IMCs (independant media centers) which have sprung up within the last
couple years to provide an independant media source and as well for
organizing localities to a global benefit.

IMCs have little funding, and it is improbable they can utilize
experimental high-technology. However, they do have a global publicly
created grassroots media network whose success has *in part* been due to
their adoption of successful communications technologies such as the
internet. (thus the relevence of technology)

Beyond explanation of the NCSA demos, the natural topic of discussion will
probably center around the potential for designing the global democratic
communications medium of the future or whether this is even a useful
endeavor. Discussion of the Orwellian potential of technology is an open
target as well. (but can we manage to help design a positive future?).

anyone up for participating in or observing that demo/discussion should
come.
