Hi all,

I'm on the coordinating committee for an initiative to build a barter and
in-kind donations website and I thought it might interest some of you (and
that a few of you might even want to get involved).  Right now the goal is
to build open-source software to run the site and connect donors and
potential recipients automatically.  If anyone's interested in joining the
effort, let me know.

You are receiving this email because I think that you will be very
interested in learning more about an idea on which many of us in the
community are working. The CUShare Steering Committee is seeking persons who
want to contribute to a brainstorming meeting (that remains to be scheduled
for some time in the near future. The idea is simple:  We are working
towards setting up a 24/7 website that will make it possible for people to
share goods and services within our regional area. We want input from both
potential providers of remainder goods, etc. and from those who would be
able to use remainder goods.  We also want input from those people who are
talented at getting goods!  We are talking about paper goods, construction
materials, computers, household materials, much like the column that Lynda
Zimmer has in the NG in which local people exchange questions and answers
and needs and replies...

If you have any interest in pursuing this with us, please respond and I will
include you on the upcoming information about our brainstorming development
meeting.  For your information others on this email are professional
educators, administrators, community members at large, board members and
civic leaders.  If you know of others you think might want to be involved at
this talking level, please let me know.
