Okay, my oops.  Turns out that it was an error in 
an anti-spam change I made in imc_Article.inc
at lunchtime.  I backed the old version back in,
and the site's back up.

Could you give me more info about why you think that? 

Something is DEFINITELY completely hosed about ucimc.org but the
webserver itself is not down (other sites are working just fine). Do
we know what is wrong with dada? It seems to be related to this error:
   Error: getpwnam() returned NULL

When the server gets all stuck it can look like random hosts are
DoSing us just because their requests get stuck and all their reload
attempts get stuck. One of the two IPs you mentioned is a googlebot,
seems an unlikely source of DoSing (other bots have been known to be
too agressive in their attempts to download MP3s and such from our
site but google is always polite). 

Ironically, with dada completely hosed the rest of the server is
working much better (no stuck apache processes).
