[IMC-Tech] Spring General Membership Meeting

The semi-annual Urbana-Champaign Independent Media Center general 
membership meeting will be this Saturday, May 5, from 4 to 6pm at the 
IMC, 202 S. Broadway, in Urbana. This date is also the Second 
Anniversary of UC IMC's purchase of the historic old downtown post 
office building.

The general membership meeting is a chance to catch up with what's going 
on among the various working groups that the hundreds of UC IMC members 
participate in to bring media access, performing arts, and make 
available space for other arts and community projects.

Beginning at 4pm, we will gather to share snacks and refreshments. 
You're invited to contribute by bringing something to share. Then the 
meeting itself will start promptly at 4:30pm. Working groups are 
requested to prepare brief (two minute) statements on their recent work 
and accomplishments. There will also be a financial report, as UC IMC 
recently completed an audit of our finances, and a building report, as 
we face the challenges of spiking energy costs after achieving our goal 
of breaking even on building finances within the first two years of 
ownership. The meeting will end promptly at 6pm.

Final planning for the GMM will be at the Steering Group meeting on 
Thursday, May 3 at 8pm. This is also a good time to remind working 
groups of their obligation to have a spoke from their group regularly 
represent  them at Steering meetings.
