Chuck,
There were actually TWO duplicate copies, #13250 and #13251, in addition
to the original, #13249. #13249 is displayed on the Newswire, while the
other two can be seen by accessing the Hidden Files section.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say, "I just want to find out if in
fact the article was a "duplicate", meaning that there *is* another copy
of the article, in full, still online, not 'hidden'." We very rarely
have any complaints of articles not posting. If you post an article
three times, it will more than likely show up three times, like this one
did.

The original is visible if you visit the main page:
http://www.ucimc.org/
and the two duplicates are visible if you visit the Hidden Files:
http://www.ucimc.org/newswire/hidden/index.php

As for the slow verification notice reply, that just happens sometimes.
If you want to avoid posting duplicates, it is best to simply revisit
the mainpage and see for yourself. If you are relying on confirming
emails to know whether or not your post went up, you are likely to end
up posting duplicates. Posting articles should be nearly instataneous,
whereas, the verification notice replies can take some time to go out,
as it is an automated, but low-priority, process.
