[Imc-web] Why was this comment hidden?

"X" is Xander, who was given a time out for relentless trolling of everything BD publishes, as well as ignoring several warnings that posting privileges would be blocked if behavior continued, which it did.

If you think we need to allow this constant trolling of anything BD writes as a way of getting discussion going, I would suggest the fact that haveing allowed this crap to go on for too long has discouraged any legitimeta eposters from wanting to engage the troll.

Again, part of a much bigger policy discussion that needs to be had at some point -- but I'd rather be consistent with the trolls, when they are both clearly identifiable and who have had their account suspended.

I was uncertain whether to propose a temporary suspension or a permanent one, but I believe it should be permanent. It should be permanent, because of the continued abuse and the fact that this is the exact same person who's already blown several user namers for the exact same shit. To do otherwise is to basically decide to allow regular writers to be stalked. That sounds a whole lot like having a blog, rather than a newssite.

More time for discussion on this F2F later, as it's a complicated issue and I'm trying to de-stress in the U.P., rather than do anymore dealing with our regular hemorrhoids than I have to right now.
