The IMC News Hour, which broadcasts for an hour every Monday at 5PM
on WEFT, invites your help over the holidays to sniff out the details of a
number of interesting stories. What it would entail is following up on
these ideas with a minidisc recorder and some questions. Show producers
can help you with the technical details.
We are also looking for producers on shows, particularly December 31 and
January 7.
Stories ideas:
- Recent consolidation of beef companies such that one company now
controls 93% (?) of the market share
- The beginnings of an ecovillage in East Urbana
- Boast Academy in Champaign - a project for kids for whom the system
isn't working
- The CU Charter School Initiative
- Nursery of projects that have come out of this semester at the School
for Designing a Society
- Alternatives to Walmart - a pre-Christmas show
- Interviews with self-employeed and those working in humane or
alternative work environments
- Locating the Methadone clinic in Urbana
If you're interested in following up on these story ideas, please call
Michael Feltes at 428-6682.
If you're interested in producing a show please contact Danielle Chynoweth
at 344-0183 or danielle at onthejob.net.
thanks!
