Your input and ideas are requested on the following language to be included
in the structure document. At the membership meeting (Sat. March 30, 2002)
the membership decided to include antidiscrimination language into the
structure document, and empowered the steering group to draft the language.
At today's steering group meeting we came up with the following statement:
"The IMC is committed to creating and maintaining an open and fair
community. Meetings are open to all without regard to age, gender,
race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, citizenship, or any
other applicable basis proscribed by law. Every participant will be
treated fairly and equitably."
Please take some time to think about this statement and to suggest changes
and/or amendments. The matter will be addressed at next week's Steering
Meeting (Sun April 14th at noon). If you have suggestions, I encourage you
to come to the meeting. If you are unable to come to the meeting please
send your suggestions to the list, or you can call me (or I'd imagine
anyone else on Steering) and I'll take your suggestions to the group. My
phone number is 278-2274.
Cheers,
Ellen
