1/6/02
Avram, Pauline, Mark E., Mike F., Danielle, Jeff Bertolet, Peter M.
Mark reported on the steering group:
1) People from WORT-FM in Madison will be in town on Feb. 9 from Noon - 4
to discuss public affairs production.
2) Steering group changed funding for groups: Instead of $100/month per
group, it's now $200 to start, then $50/month beginning in February.
3) Mother Jones: Paul R. said he won't touch it any more unless we get a
new (physical) mixer, cost est. $200. We discussed our needs and agreed
that we DESPERATELY want a stable, usable MoJo, and that we'll contribute
$100 to the purchase of the mixer.
Also decided to buy 50 minidiscs, so they're available for news
production. IF YOU TAKE MINIDISCS, WRITE DOWN YOUR NAME AND THE NUMBER OF
DISCS YOU TOOK.
Newshour 1/7/02
Pauline will air shift. Mark E. has Cuba info ready to go. Headlines:
Danielle -- Rent-a-center gender discrimination lawsuit
Danielle's proposal: We do radio from 1:15 - 2, then collaborate with
Public I from 2 - 2:45, then Public I from 2:45 - whenever. Talk about
article collaborations, cross-publicity, and other shared interests. We
agreed to try it out.
Half hour IMC Newshour? Yes. Forces us to craft it better, can put
hour-long shows into two-program series, more people can use it nationally,
easier to find producers. Args against: We need the time to get the
content out.
