[Newspoetry] The Little Cuban Boy

This is my first attempt at newspoetry. I could no longer avoid the 
temptation.




I don't watch the news
and I don't read the news, much.

I was surprised to learn that the US
did its thug routine and "saved" the Little
Cuban Boy.

I learned this from the family I
married into.
They are all Republicans, some own guns
and most are compassionate.

My Step-Father-In-Law believes that the
proper methods were used. I like him, but he's
wrong. Really fucking wrong.

I would like to go into the reasons why,
but
I'm no psychologist.

His wife's brother is ashamed of the US.
He is an avid hunter and ex-armed forces(probably
National Guard).

The aforementioned man's brother is in the middle.
Also, he smiles way too much.

What about me?

I kept my mouth shut and decided silently
that there can be no objectivity in this case.
The fight was no longer about a boy and his father.
It was about the US vs. Cuba, democracy vs. communism.

Those who live under one cannot truly
understand the other.

Well, what about the relatives involved?

I dunno.
