that it's not worth their time to buy lottery tickets.

1 winner: the states selling the tickets.

12 times more likely to die of a heart attack while waiting in line to
buy the ticket than you are to win.

37 = 3.7 times the budget of the National Endowment for the Arts.

4 percent state taxes to the winner's state, the cash of desparate
out-of-state losers.
