"Independent Media and the The End of Mediarchy"

Jerry Landay will speak about his hopes for the burgeoning independent
media movement and his strategies for how this movement can become a
viable alternative to the corporate dominated press.   His talk will
include a strategy session about how to expand independent media in C-U.

Jerry has worked on all sides in his 50 years of journalism experience --
as a writer for corporate, public, and independent news services and as a
journalism professor. He is former news correspondent for ABC and CBS, has
produced for PBS and NPR, and contributes to the local Octopus.
