thirty-four lazy men

today
thirty-four men are deciding
that my clean air and water
should be ensured
by fossil fuel companies

today
thirty-four men are deciding
that my rights as a worker
should be ensured
by sweatshop owners

and thus i conclude
that these thirty-four men
are too lazy to do their own jobs
to ensure my rights
and have listened blindly to their portfolios and pocketbooks
in deciding
the right people
to whom to delegate their responsibilities
