[Newspoetry] What's that, again?

Hiya.

	Had a bit of head-shaking confusion just now reading the
following (names removed for a moment) in a NYTimes op-ed piece:

"[His] reaction to the organized guerrilla war against Israel
has been to pretend that both sides are at fault... He
calls for "an end to violence" - as if the victims of terror were as
culpable as those instigating and sustaining it. Such serene
evenhandedness in the face of aggression is as strategically
foolish as it is morally wrong."

	Sounds like something with which one might agree, yes? Only
thing is, the writer is one William Safire, and he's talking about
Dubya. Specifically, William Safire feels that treating both sides
as culpable in the conflict is wrong, because only the Palestinians
should be held responsible. Bizarre, eh?
