[Newspoetry] the spirit of bipartisanship

A cornfield stretching for miles
and a biplane. There are no aisles
here, really, just grit,
knowhow.

We can feed the hungry whereas
you can tell them about the ass
and the door. To work,
perchance to fare
well.

There is a spirit here,
a resistent strain,
borne on the wind
like starlink genes

each spring our parties
turn to green.
What is the spirit
of bipartisanship?

Take us to your leader,
we bleep from underneath
green low-power antennae,
alighting on the beltway,
translate.

Follow the live mic
cable to that cornucopia
of shoe leather and he'll
hem and haw
haw haw

Follow the string running
out of its head, pink
fingers are jerking
stuffed into cufflinked
starch

Donate to each party,
that is the spirit
of bipartisanship. Reform
reform, transform it into
results. No, our results,
you strange little children.

Why do you ask? Excuse
me my puppet is on in 5.
