I was at a very swank party with Alan Greenspan and his entourage.
Trendy people were pressing towards him, asking in every way they
could think of what he was going to do with interest rates.  He
suavely and coyly deflected the questions.  Women fainted at the sight
of him.  He autographed people's ties while trading quips with
journalists.  I considered myself lucky to have been invited to the
party, too lucky, like I was in a dream.
