Ballad of the Green Card Pay

Fast food workers the whole worldwide,
Cheerful men who clean and fry.
Men who work two shifts each day;
These strong men earn third world pay.

"Burger King" 's upon their chests;
These are men, America's guests.
One thousand meals we'll serve today,
These proud men, on green card pay.

Trained for labor, underpaid;
Working hard, but nothing's gained;
Men who toil by night and day
Spare change make on green card pay.

Back at home a young wife stays.
Her working man won't send his pay.
He was jailed with those oppressed,
Leaving her with this request:

"Keep 'Burger King' off my son's chest.
He won't serve these American pests.
He'll be a man they'll test one day:
Let them eat their green card pay."

The other one
Fighting soldiers from the sky,
Fearless men who jump and die.
Men who mean just what they say,
The brave men of The Green Beret.

Silver wings upon their chests,
These are men, America's best,
One hundred men we'll test today,
But only three win The GreenBeret.

Trained to live off nature's land,
Trained in combat, hand to hand.
Men who fight by night and day,
Courage take from The Green Beret.

Silver wings upon their chests,
These are men, America's best,
One hundred men we'll test today,
But only three win The Green Beret.

Back at home a young wife waits,
Her Green Beret has met his fate.
He has died for those oppressed.
Leaving her this last request.

Put silver wings on my son's chest,
Make him one of America's best,
He'll be a man they'll test one day,
Have him win The Green Beret.
