Bush's Orwellian Speech

I read Jacob Levich's brilliant essay
and I heard Dubya's big terrorist TV speech.

It's really happening, isn't it?
1984 in 2001.

Dubya must have studied Orwell in school.
Maybe it made sense to him.
WAR IS PEACE.
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY.
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH.

Epiphany:
We're ALL living at Ground Zero.
The explosive convergence 
of history and literature.
Historature.

Before our very eyes
Before our very ears
our unelected President
is creating
a New Word Order.
