authorities on matters at hand

national news (it's on television)

U.S. intelligence
is still reviewing the tape
that bin laden sent
so full of valuable clues.
what a sucker!

it appears he's in one of
the many caves of afghanistan,
or somewhere like afghanistan.
he's wearing what looks like
an american watch,
american camoflauge
(perhaps a snub?).
oh! and he used a tripod
to hold up his camera,
which proves conclusively
that the cameraman wasn't actually running
while the message was being taped.

thought (it's not on television)

U.S. intelligence
is paid over 3 billion U.S. dollars
per year
by the U.S. public,
most of whom have also watched that tape.

local news (it's also on television)

a man died of 'airborn anthrax'
in Florida.
we shouldn't let that worry us
in Illinois.
everything is under control.
the spores are inhaled.
initial symptoms are similar to
a common cold,
and a back ache.
stock video of people in white coats,
petri dishes (of anthrax?),
and yes,
a crop duster.

good god.
