"in deep mourning"

what we were doing
not to this magnitude
at the time

through it all
what we were doing
in heinous absence

moments of rubble
declaring tragedy
not to this magnitude

at the time
love happens
speaking in smoke

horrific walls disclose
tears of justice
what were we doing

but vowing magnitude
in the deep morning
through it all

touch feared dead
asking for silence
to unfold disbelief

to rescue debris
from falling prayer
our hearts go out

to urgent pleas for blood
confirming the word
our hearts go out

in horrific absence
at the time
love happens
