Requested, unrequited
A palindromic year turns an indifferent ear

Shall I celebrate myself instead?
And possess for a moment "the origin of all poems?"

Does the broken link of that day
-- a day of consumption, compulsion, contrition
point us, like the finger of the Buddha to the moon
to love unbound, unbought?

I have a melted chocolate in my coat pocket. It was meant for my
eldest child, who in sincere tears asked why she had been neglected
while her sister had tasted a truffle.

Why have you forsaken me?
Without attachment, can one be forsaken?

And yet
Asgo
I grasp
I seize
I take root
I cling

Si no, el poema de mi vida es quebradizo
La canción de mí mismo zumba, sin disonancia
