The Hague (Associated Poets):

Just days after Slobodan Milosevic proclaimed his defiance of the
legitimacy of the international war crimes tribunal in the Hague, the
trial's judge relented and awarded him the gold medal.

Milosevic had argued that the trial was a deliberate attempt, motivated by
the Western political agenda, to unfairly discredit him for actions
designed to protect the former Yugoslavia from Western aggression. Many
Serbs agree, and apparently their agreement was enough to make Milosevic's
allegations stick. Serbs were wowed by Milosevic's artistry and his
flawless execution of a difficult combination of flying sit spin followed
by a quadruple camel. In comparison, the prosecutor stumbled coming out of
the most difficult part of her routine, prompting many supporters to cry
foul as the judge continued to defer to her and interrupt Milosevic's tirades.

It seems there was no easy solution to this matter and the judge has
awarded the gold medal to both, in a decision which will surely leave a
black -- or at least a dull grey -- mark on international justice.
