            The Ballad of Mohammad Ali

There's songs of flowers, birds and dogs,
summer showers, autumn leaves,
people, places and games of ball,
But not one for Ali.

It's true he sings his own praises,
Staunch as an old oak tree.
It's time we all sing the ballad of
Mohammad Ali.

This cocky guy chocked full of pride
Saw the writing on the wall.
This time he took a stand to fight
His biggest battle of all.

With sixty fights in his sixty years
He wove a magic spell.
His fight goes on, on his family farm.
We all have a last bell.

The call came in to go to war
But he refused to leave.
He led the march against the draft.
He won this fight with grief.

No one told him he had to box,
A life long dream, his oqn.
No one told him he had to quit.
His boxing days were gone.

The Ballad of Mohammad Ali,
A mystery in history.
So sing along this ballad of
Mohammad Ali.

He floats like a butterfly
And he stings like a bee.
A man who stands up strong and true.
We all love you, Ali.

The ballad of Mohammad Ali,
A mystery in history.
So sing along this ballad of
Mohammad Ali.
