Say News Breaks Free


it amazes me
this week

new democratic hopes
hopped up the stairs

gnawed through the duct tape
on less than $2 a day

kicked out a wooden panel
increasingly pointed in its criticisms

punched out a window and
underestimated what it takes to build


	after years of violent turf wars
	millions losing faith

	a dwindling confidence in
	kicking and screaming

	the real agenda of the world's poor
	may have been a target


functioning, properly rooted
it can happen right here

through the narrow opening
not in dry economic statistics but in the lives of ordinary citizens
