Newspoetry - A dangerous profession

Some people stand on street corners
and ask for food or money
and some cities arrest them
for vagrancy.

Others stand on street corners
offering their bodies to passersby
and some cities arrest them
for prostitution.

But if you were to stand on a street corner
and recite poetry, asking for nothing in return
you'd expect it would be all right
especially in Oxford.

But you would be wrong.
