33 nears 100/3
but what is 100?
what is 2000?
we have ten fingers
but we use them
to strap bombs to ourselves
sign war powers acts
I have no love for 100
or other enemy
combatants

What awful presents
this year
168 dead in Moscow
and for what
hopes for peace drowned in gas
in hot air
in the Eleveth wreckage

The Shining was on TV last night
and was not the least bit scary
compared to 9/11
or the Bush administration
The cinematography was beautiful
and there were no pundits

For my birthday I want to turn
on CNN and see Newspoetry
in the crawl and
William at the anchor's desk
