The oil will run out.
In 20 twentysomething or thirtysomething
it'll be gone.

Then who will we invade?
And what fuel will power our fighter jets?
The oil will run out.

If we know that
the oil will run out,
why can't we bear the price?

The oil will run out,
and it will have cost millions
their lives.

Our fuel cells will hum
and their economies will collapse, because
the oil will run out.

There will still be poetry, even though
the oil will run out,
unless they burn it all for fuel.
