                                                       War is Talk (not
hell for us)

Different people, different levels;
Nothing chit-chat transforms to serious,
And we brace ourselves for a battle.

A battle discussing other battles
Throughout decades
Throughout history
Throughout time

You see what I do not during "friendly" fire;
Anger rises and our divisive trenches smoke.

But real trenches of war,
Muddy, bloody and soaked,
Those we will never see.

Still, we'll argue our opinions,
Mine from print,
Yours from t.v.  

We'll watch all wars at distance
Safe, coddled and opinionated;
We'll age soft and become more opinionated.

Our opinions don't mean much.

In the Land of the Free I often feel petty and helpless;
In the Land of the Free I feel guilty for what I've got;
In the Land of the Free we talk of war,
As the world around us rages on.
