A team of pollsters and public opinion experts (who are trained in shaping
public opinion, not gauging it) has determined that the 88 US casualties
in Iraq thus far (the Iraqi, Kurdish, Kuwaiti, and British casualties don'
t count) have had no dampening effect on the public's support for the Bush
administration's war. A comprehensive sampling of white-collar workers
who haven't lost any family members indicates that Americans would even be
willing to except far more casualties in the name of getting the war over
with quickly so they can concentrate on "Fear Factor".
"most interviewed today said the casualties had not eroded their support
for the war, and that they could accept two, three or even 10 times as
many deaths in the coming weeks, as long as success was in sight."
