The Oxymoronicon is a compendium of words and phrases found in the news
which having meanings differing from, and sometimes in total opposition to,
  their traditional dictionary definitions.

Newspoets are encouraged to add entries as they find them. I'll start the
ball rolling with this counterintuitive little gobbet from the Associated
Press:

(Baghdad, Iraq-AP, Aug. 27, 2003 7:21 AM ) _ The military is reporting the
death of another American soldier in Iraq.

The soldier died from what's termed a non-hostile gunshot wound. No other
details have been released.

"While conservatives tell you, leave things alone and no one will lose,
and liberals tell you, interfere a lot and no one will lose, baseball says:
Someone will lose . . . So that baseball achieves the tragic vision that
democracy evades."
